Creating a Garden with Views Across Salcombe Harbour
When the owners of The Brewery in Salcombe contacted us, they were facing a pit of despair, it was just after the first lockdown in 2020, and they had started some major garden landscaping works on their property in the heart of Salcombe. They’d been managing it remotely themselves but were let down by the builder after the project had started.
They were left in a far worse state than when they had started the project, with a completely unusable garden. As clients of our sister company Pebbles of Salcombe their first port of call was to us to step in and take over managing the project and to find a new contractor to finish the job. The works consisted of creating tiered terraced areas in their elevated garden, to give them views across Salcombe Harbour.
Nervous after being let down previously, our clients located several hundred miles away in the North of England were keen to be kept updated on progress, which they could do via our client view portal. Our client view portal was fantastic for uploading regular photos and updates of works on site. It was perfect for giving them the reassurance they needed that the builders were on site and that things were happening! They took great comfort knowing that the work was in safe hands and that we have our own tradesmen that were working on their project.
The works took three months and we created a gorgeous terraced garden that is perfect for enjoying the views across Salcombe Harbour.
The full scope of works included:
Removal of materials left by the previous builder
Stoneworks as per architects plans
New stone walls
New steps
New slate patio
Add external lighting
Create four tiers of garden
A bespoke handrail fitted to the stairs and the upper tiers
Match the stonework to the existing stonework of the building
